Embarking on the foam of sound currents stuffed into the Gulf of Naples, Pino Daniele lays the foundations of his groove by drawing from world palettes and flavoring everything with strong elements from the Neapolitan tradition. Born in 1955, after a career as a session player and a training period as a bass player with Napoli Centrale, he returns to the guitar to make his debut with Terra mia (1977). The beloved blues wears Latin and dines with funk in the monumental Nero a mezzo (1980), the third chapter of a continuous research that initiates a decade of fame and new experiments, in the name of a fusion with varied stylistic influences. Meanwhile, 'Anna will come' becomes her first song in Italian, in that Latin Mascalzone (1989) that realizes her dream of merging acoustics and electronics. Friendship with Massimo Troisi drags Daniele into the world of soundtracks, from The ways of the Lord are finite (1988) to 'When', which well frames his identity in the same 1991 of A man in the blues. Meanwhile, a stadium tour with Jovanotti and Eros Ramazzotti completes the picture of a playful and eclectic artist. Ballads enter the collective imagination, African reinterpretations and contaminations crowd the journey of a curious and tireless musician, who mixes a multiform mother yeast rich in characters from every stretch of the path for the third millennium, the legacy of an artist who has left the fort since 2015 echo of his earthly experience.
